Places to Skate
The beauty of inline skating is that you can skate just about anyhwere that doesn’t specifically prohibit cyclists, skateboarders and inliners. Here are just a few places I’ve found to be perfect for skating.
Serpentine Road, Hyde Park
Come out of the Hyde Park tube station, enter the park through the main gate and walk in the direction of speakers corner for about 1 minute until you see a coffee hut on your left, that’s the start of Serpentine Road. A great place to practice, hang out and make new friends. During the Summer it gets pretty busy along Serpentine Road and I’d suggest heading on over to Albert Memorial if you fancy a quieter area.
Albert Memorial, Kensington Gardens
Situated opposite the Royal Albert Hall and entered via the Coalbrookdale Gate, the Albert Memorial road isn’t that long but it does provide a less busy skating area to practice (varies depending on time and day). You will also find rollerhockey and lessons taking place here during the weekends and Summer evenings.
The nearest tube station for Albert Memorial is South Kensington.
